Cameron Crookston is a second year PhD student at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama Theatre and Performance Studies. He is also enrolled in the collaborative program with Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies. His research includes looking at drag performance from a non-gender performance perspective, specifically how drag represents an affective, utopian queer past. Cameron is also a dramaturge and documentary playwright in Toronto. His most recent play,Stories from the Generation Gap, seeks to explore intergenerational conflict and the concept of mentors between gay men in Toronto’s gay community, and is scheduled for production in June 2015.
